On paper the outcome 2026 TRC Track Meet shouldn't of been close, but the Wabash men's track team didn't get that memo. Stellar performances from ALL participants allowed the Apaches to finish runner-up, coming within 3 points of the team championship Friday night at Alumni Field. Manchester (108 points) held on to the title for the 2nd year in a row but were tested by the Apaches (105 points) and Northwestern (102 points) as the outcome of the meet wasn't decided until the last event. The night got started on the track with a conference championship in the 4x800 relay from members Ezra Church, Luis Trejo, James Unger, and Caidan Burchett in 8:19.80 a 12 second improvement from their previous season's best. The field events also produced a major chunk of points for the team as Braxten Beeks secured 2nd in both the shot put (44'0") and discus (142' 9"). His throw in the discus was almost a 1 foot improvement on the season. Liam McCann added 4 points to the team total with his throw of 119' 4", a 12 foot improvement. The long jump featured a new PR from Preston Cantrell, soaring 18' 4.25", good enough for 7th place and 2 team points. Ian Edmond equaled his personal best in the pole vault going 10' to get 4th place and Landon Schuler earned a team point by getting 8th place. Back on the track Coleson Kugler contributed 30 points to the team total winning the sprint trifecta for the 2nd year in a row, claiming the 100, 200, and 400 meter dashes. Coleson's win in the 100 meter dash is his 4th consecutive, having won it his freshmen year through senior year. Ezra Church claimed another 800 meter conference title adding to the one from his Freshmen year. Luis Trejo added another point in the 800 with his 8th place finish. In the 1600 James Unger and Caidan Burchett scored 3 and 2 points respectively with a 6th and 7th place finish. The 3200 was one of the best races of the night as Kamden Oswalt and James Unger continually moved up and refused to let anyone pass them. The 4x100 meter relay of Isaiah Jones, Preston Cantrell, Ian Edmond, and Keitaro Nagahama posted a new best time while coming in 5th. The 4x400 relay of Ezra Church, Caidan Burchett, Isaiah Jones, and Coleson Kugler dropped 3 seconds from their previous best earning 8 points for the team.
