The Wabash Middle School Boys Cross Country Team hosted their own invitational Saturday at the city park. Behind excellent performances the Apaches finished 3rd out of 12 teams. Leading the way for Wabash was Kamden Oswalt with a 2nd place finish. A pack of Apaches followed with Jacoby Amburgey, Kaden Kelsheimer, Beckett Shaw, Jeffery Small, Kedryn Evenson, and Easton Cantrell coming in 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and 25th respectively. In the reserve race Kalib Mabery came in 10th, Demetri Shull 12th, Jaydenn Mertz 13th, Aiden Young 14th, Mason Tart 17th, and Finn Fairchild 22nd. Many outstanding performances happened throughout the morning. Beckett Shaw, Kaleb Mabery, Demetri Shull, Mason Tart, Easton Cantrell, Kaden Kelsheimer, and Aiden Young all equaled or bettered their lifetime personal bests. Many other runners were very close. This concludes the cross country season for the 5th graders. The 6-8th graders will be in action next week at the conference meet.
