Sectional Championship: Bats Stymied For Both Teams As Wabash Varsity Apaches Loses To Eastern

Both teams were strong on the bump on Monday, but Eastern was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-0 victory over Wabash Varsity Apaches. Mackey Sorg started the game for Wabash Varsity Apaches and recorded 21 outs. An error put Eastern on the board in the top of the second. Eastern added one run in the third. Hurt singled to the right side of the infield, making the score 2-0. Hurt earned the win for Eastern. The starter allowed three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking two. Sorg took the loss for Wabash Varsity Apaches. The starter went seven innings, surrendering three runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out seven and walking three. Haiden McWhirt led Wabash Varsity Apaches with two hits in three at bats. Wabash Varsity Apaches turned one double play in the game. Hullinger and Hurt each drove in one run for Eastern. Tarrh led Eastern with two hits in four at bats. Eastern turned one double play in the game. Eastern didn't commit a single error in the field. Foland had the most chances in the field with 10.
