Wabash Boys Soccer lost their final regular-season match at home to Carroll (Flora) by a score of 0-3. The first half saw Carroll popping shots from all over the field with Wabash working counterattacks. The Apache attack was highlighted by Coleson Kugler's threatening runs down the right side of the field which unbalanced the Carroll backline. Kugler ended the evening with a team-high 3 shots. Carroll's pressure ultimately yielded a Wabash own-goal in the 36th minute of play. Down 1-0, Wabash responded quickly as Caleb Daugherty forced a goalkeeping error followed by a shot that rolled across the goal mouth before being cleared away. Just before half, Carroll scored their second goal. Wabash continued to work counterattacks in the second half but was unable to find the net. Jose Robles, Will Galley and Kugler all defended heroically to hold Carroll to only 1 goal in the second half. Kugler had Wabash's best chance of the night when he headed a Ty Carpenter cross that went just wide of the Carroll goal. Isaac Byers ended the night with 13 saves. Wabash opens Sectional play next Tuesday as they head to Concordia Lutheran to face the host team at 5 pm.
