The Lady Apaches had their last regular season meet this Saturday morning. The girls competed in the TRC hosted in North Manchester. Each of the girls knew that they were coming off of a tough week of practices. They anticipated using the meet as a day of growth to improve themselves before getting into sectionals. Because of this, the girls came in fast for the first mile. All of them hitting mile paces seconds faster than their average pace. Going into the second and third mile, the girls maintained their speed, inevitably making them all achieve phenomenal times. The Apaches came in with a competitive drive at the perfect time of the season. Because of this, almost all of the girls hit season PRs and lead them to a 4th place finish in the conference. First for the lady Apaches was Calisen Kugler, a senior, with a season PR of 21:52 and an 10th place finish, earning her a medal. Close behind her was junior, Ivy Beamer, coming in with a 23:11 time and taking 19th place. Next up on the roster was Haylee Friend, a sophomore, running a season PR time of 23:18 and placing 20th overall. Following in was freshman, Mallory Tart, with a PR time of 23:27 and crossing the line in 21st place. Next up was Mia Fairchild, a freshman, placing 24th overall with a big PR time of 23:33. Sophomore, Maya Howard, ran a season PR time of 24:21 (one second away from her career PR) and placing 31st. Close behind her was our senior, Irma Robles, running a career PR time of 24:24 and taking 33rd place overall. Finishing up the Apache team was Rinka Higuera, a freshman, with a PR time of 25:23 and placing 39th place. There were 63 athletes in the race total. The Lady Apaches will be off this week in preparation for Sectionals hosted at Manchester the following week!
