Wabash High School

The Wabash Middle School Lady Apaches competed at the Taylor University Invitational on Saturday, putting together a strong team effort against a competitive field. The Apaches finished 9th as a team, with each runner contributing to the overall score and helping Wabash continue to gain valuable racing experience early in the season. Coming in first for the running Apaches race crew was 5th grader, Caroline Myers, running in with a PR time of 14:12 and placing 46th overall. Following in was 6th grader Eva Sommers with a PR tied time of 14:46 and taking 58th place in the race. Following in for the Apaches was 6th grader Ruby Cantrell with a PR time of 16:30.7 and placing 88th overall. Right on her heels was 5th grader Marlowe Fansher with a PR time of 16:30.8 and in 89th. The next Apache in was our 5th grader, Lola Hill, with a PR time of 16:45 and coming in 93rd in the line up. Next for the team was 6th grader, Braelyn Jones, running in with a time of 17:23 and placing 100th overall. Another Apache into the shoot was 5th grader, Lily Hearn, running in with a time of 17:55 and taking 106th place. Next up was another 5th grader, Roslyn Hall, with a placement of 121st and running in with a PR time of 19:26. Following into the shoot was 5th grader, Alora Hampton, with a time of 19:32 and finishing in 123rd place. Not far from her was 5th grader Lauren Cook with a PR time of 19:59 and in 126th place. Up next was 6th grader Rory Edwards, finishing her race with a time of 21:23 and taking 135th place. Following into the shoot was Harper Ellet, an 8th grader. Ellet ran a time of 22:50 and placed 139th. New to the crew was Layna Eiler, a 5th grader, who ran her season opener race in a time of 23:02 and placing 141st. Up next for the team was 7th grader Raelyn Page with a time of 23:49 and taking 145th place. Finishing up the Apache line up was 7th grader Daisy Ravenscroft finishing her race in a time of 29:26 and placed 148th overall. With each race, the Lady Apaches are continuing to grow more comfortable racing together and learning how to compete as a team. Saturday's performance was another positive step forward as they look ahead to the remainder of the season.
