Wabash High School

The Wabash High School girls cross country team turned in a strong performance on their home course Saturday, capturing the team championship at the Apache Invite. Racing in familiar territory, the Lady Apaches competed with confidence and determination from the opening mile through the finish. The team’s depth and commitment helped Wabash secure the top spot while representing their school and community on their home course. Leading the way for the Lady Apaches was Teresina Cordes, who won the individual race with an impressive time of 18:46. Wabash continued to pack the front of the field, with Sutton Stoffel placing 3rd in 21:35, followed by Mya Golliher in 4th at 22:12 and Mia Fairchild in 6th at 23:17 a season PR. Chloe Cooper finished 9th in with a season PR of 23:46, while Mallory Tart placed 12th in 25:07. Emma Cantrell crossed the finish line in 15th with a time of 26:02, and Josie Bailey rounded out the Wabash runners in 20th at 28:16. The meet was also a meaningful opportunity to recognize the team’s seniors, who have dedicated years of hard work, leadership and countless miles to the Wabash Cross Country program. Their contributions have helped shape the culture of the team and will leave a lasting impact on the runners who follow them. The Lady Apaches will look to build on their home-course victory as they continue their season into their Conference competition next Saturday.
