The Apache boys cross country team finished second in the TRC meet Saturday at Manchester High School. Northwestern won the meet with a score of 27 to the Apache's 44. Rochester was 3rd with a score of 110, Manchester (117, 4th), Northfield (125, 5th), Peru (127, 6th) and Maconaquah (185, 7th) rounded out the scoring teams. Junior Kamden Oswalt was the individual race winner. As the race unfolded a group of five including Oswalt, Ezra Church, and James Unger, along two Northwestern runners broke away. Running together most of the race Kamden surged ahead with 1500 meters to go establishing a lead that would never be relinquished. His winning time of 16:33 was 8 seconds ahead of 2nd place. Ezra Church finished 4th and James Unger 5th, both earning all conference honors. Luis Trejo cam in 13th, continuing his impressive trajectory throughout the season. Kedryn Evenson came in 24th, 4 places ahead of Landen Fisher (28th). Kalib Mabery finished 42nd. Carter Pegg established a new PR coming in 58th. Barrett Benzinger came in 67th. There were 73 total runners in the race.
