High School Boys Cross Country Team Opens Season With Tremendous Effort At Mississinewa Invitational

The Apache boys cross country team opened their season at the Mississinewa Invitational Saturday morning. With the top five scoring places coming in 1st 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th, the Apaches scored 25 points coming away with the victory. Fort Wayne Snider came in 2nd with 55 points. Brett Shull defended his individual title from the previous season. Newcomer, junior Caidan Burchett finished 3rd in his debut performance. Kasen Oswalt opened the season with a tremendous effort coming in 5th. His brother, freshman Kamden Oswalt, finished 7th in his first high school race of the season. Another newcomer, Drew Guenin-Hodson, finished 9th in his opening performance. Matthew Niles came in 18th and Maverick Sommers finished 36th. The team will be back in action next week at the Wapahani Invitational
