The Lady Apaches lost their 2nd game of the season to a very strong Mississinewa team with a score of 0-2. Wabash had some early scoring opportunities, nearly scoring in the first minute of the game and 2 more shots in the half just missing and knocking the crossbar. Fantastic defense anchored by Jaycee Jones and supported by Abbi Hipskind, Samantha Walter and Colleena Meadows along with a stellar performance from goalkeeper Kait Honeycutt allowed Wabash to be tied 0-0 at half. This being our 3rd game this week, fatigue began to show in the 2nd half and Mississinewa found some openings offensively and put 2 goals away in the 2nd half. Shots on goal from Wabash today were Brookelynn Buzzard, Logan Wright, Raegan Jones and Gracie Napier. Tremendous effort today by Anna Daughtry, playing in multiple positions for the Apaches helping both offensively and defensively. Kait Honeycutt tied the school record for saves in a single game. Wabash is now 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in the TRC. Wabash plays again on Tuesday, when they go on the road to face the Marion Giants.
