Boys Varsity Cross Country Team Takes On Challenge In Elite Race At Eagle Classic

The Wabash Boys Varsity Cross Country Team were invited to compete in the "Elite Race" at the Eagle Classic hosted by Brown County High School. The Apaches had the opportunity to compete against some of the best schools in the state Brownsburg (ranked #1) Columbus North (ranked #3) Bloomington North (ranked #5) Carmel (ranked #5) Mt. Vernon (ranked #11) Center Grove (ranked #12) Avon (ranked #13) Franklin Central (ranked #14) North Central (ranked #18) Zionsville (ranked #19) Floyd Central (ranked #22) Despite being the smallest school in the field by far the Apaches held their own and with consistent efforts finished 14th out of 18 teams. Jonas Church led the way finishing 37th. Isaiah Cordes was close behind finishing 47th. Brett Shull and Caidan Burchett teamed up for a 94th and 99th finish respectively. Kasen and Kam Oswalt duked it out again finishing within one place of each other 130th and 131st with Matthew Niles close behind in 141st. Maverick Sommers finished in 158th and Kristian Stanton, running his first race of the year finished 160th.
