The running Lady Apaches stepped up to the line today in their last race of the season at the Running Rivers Conference hosted at Manchester. The girls took off incredible, setting incredibly quick paces from the gun. The unity amongst the team was displayed not only in their encouragements for each other, but also in the way they attacked the race. The Apaches raced HARD from start to finish, leaving nothing left in their tanks. Shooting up over the hill and heading straight into the shoot, the girls all ended their season with personal records! The girls raked in 4th place, only 6 points away from 3rd as a team due to their excellent effort! Coming in first for the running Apache crew was 7th grader Teresina Cordes, winning the Conference title in 1st place with a career PR and setting a new school record with a time of 11:12. Second for the team was a 7th grader, Sutton Stoffel, running in with a career PR time of 12:41 and placing 10th overall. Next was a 6th grader, Grace Jones, running a career PR time of 12:55, and finishing in 13th place. Next into the shoot was 7th grader, Briar Stoffel, running in with a season PR time of 14:13 and taking 30th place. Coming in next was our 8th grader, Emma Cantrell, with a season PR time of 17:19 and placing 56th as an individual. Next up was 6th grader, Adelyn Edwards, with a career PR time of 18:49 and placing 59th over all. Our Apache squad was finished out by two 6th graders. Harper Ellet finished her race with a season PR of 19:18 and placed 61st overall. There were 64 runners in the Conference race. The girls had a fantastic season, full full of growth and fun! The effort, dedication, and determination we have seen from these young ladies is outstanding and builds hope for our future teams within our program. Thank you ladies. Here’s to next season!
