The Wabash Boys Soccer team gave fans plenty to cheer about on Saturday when they hosted Maconaquah. The Apaches showed grit and determination on defense, with Derek Reed and Prestyn Jones working tirelessly to hold off wave after wave of Brave attacks. Goalkeeper Jake Vandegrift was outstanding between the posts, making 8 saves to keep Wabash in the match. In the second half, the Apache offense sparked to life. Prestyn Jones played a perfect leading pass that sprung Jaxton Buzzard free on a breakaway. Buzzard beat his defender and tucked the ball past the keeper to put Wabash on the board. The Braves added two more goals, but the Apaches never stopped fighting. On the final play of the match, Max Carpenter scored his first goal of the season, capping off a strong team effort. The Apaches will be back in action Tuesday when they host Tippecanoe Valley at LH Carpenter Field. Come out and support the team!
