Wabash Lady Apaches Fall in Penalty Shootout

By Keisha Wright | Aug 26, 2025 8:09 PM

Wabash girls varsity soccer team falls to Rochester, after being tied 3-3 after regulation and overtime, ending in a penalty shootout. The Lady Apaches were up 1-0 at half, with a beautiful assist from freshman Ember Christle to senior Logan Wright to win a foot race and put it in the back of the net. Wright would continue to push the defensive line, score 2 more times in the 2nd half - once assisted by freshman Alyssa Rose and one unassisted. Rochester took advantage of open shots on the net and tied it during regulation. Wright had two more shots hit the goal post during overtime and just missed putting the game away. Wright was the only Lady Apache to put away her penalty kick and despite a solid save from goalkeeper Sienna Stoffel, Rochester put away 3 to win in penalty kicks. Wright had 7 shots on goal for the night, along with freshman Hope Fritter putting a shot on too. Stoffel finished with 3 saves for the night. Very strong strong game for senior Raegan Jones and freshman Baelee Noland in the midfield for Wabash. The Lady Apaches are back in action on Thursday at Peru.
