High School Girls Cross Country Left Course Ablaze at Marion Invite

The Wabash Apache Girls cross country team delivered a spectacular performance at the Marion Invite, taking full advantage of the perfect running conditions. With cool air and clear skies, the Apaches set a strong pace early and maintained their drive through each mile, showcasing both mental grit and tenacity. Their effort was evident as they pushed one another, attacked the course, and finished with confidence. The race not only highlighted their individual strengths but also the collective spirit of the team, proving that they are continuing to grow stronger with each competition. The team pulled a 5th place finish! Our first three Apaches into the shoot placed in the top 35, earning medals. First for the team was Mia Fairchild. Mia crossed the line in a season PR time of 21:26.4 taking 16th place. Flying in on her heels was Mya Golliher coming in with a career PR time of 21:26.6. Golliher snagged 17th place. Next for the team was Mallory Tart, with a career PR time of 22:08 in 25th place. Next up was Haylee Friend, running her race in with a time of 25:02. Friend was able to place 68th overall. Rounding out the Lady Apaches with a blazing time was Emma Cantrell with a career PR of 25:46, swiping 77th place. The girls stepped up to the line with 119 athletes total, with 27 schools present in the race. The Lady Apaches took an impressive 9th place team finish against some talented and large teams. The girls are looking forward to racing again next Saturday, September 13th at Brown County.
