The Wabash Lady Apaches showed their true Apache spirit as they took on their tough home course Tuesday afternoon—made even more demanding by a steady rain shower. The slick trails and rolling hills tested every runner, but the Lady Apaches pushed through with focus and resilience, proving their ability to adapt to the elements. Despite the conditions, the team powered through the wet course and turned in a strong performance that highlighted both their toughness and team spirit. And in the end, their perseverance paid off: the girls were able to win the Apache Invite for the fourth year in a row! First for the team was Mya Golliher who came in with a time of 22:02 and snagging 2nd place. The next Apache in was Mia Fairchild with a time of 22:08 and taking 3rd place. Next up was Haylee Friend, with a time of 25:59 in 7th place. Fighting for a strong finish was Emma Cantrell with a time of 26:33, and placing 9th overall. Completing the team score was Maya Howard with a time of 27:30 and taking 15th place overall. It’s hard to believe, but we are now entering Conference prep. Be on the look out for these amazing Apaches next week where they will battle it out on the course at Manchester.
