Wabash Middle School Girls Take Runner Up in RRC

The Wabash Lady Apaches cross country team set out The Wabash Lady Apaches capped off their cross country season with an impressive showing at the Running Rivers Conference meet, finishing second overall as a team. Competing against a strong field of conference rivals, the girls showcased the grit, teamwork, and determination that have defined their season. From the opening mile, the Lady Apaches ran with purpose, working together through the challenging course and maintaining their pace through the final stretch. Each runner played a key role in securing valuable points, reflecting the team’s growth and commitment throughout the year. Coming in first for the running Apache varsity race crew was 8th grader Teresina Cordes, taking 1st place overall and running a career ending PR time of 11:04 and breaking her record for the last time. Second for the team was 8th grader, Sutton Stoffel, running in with a career ending PR time of 11:44 and placing 2nd overall. Following in was 7th grader AdaLynn (Grace) Jones with a career PR time of 12:26 and taking 7th place in the Conference. Another Apache into the shoot was 8th grader, Briar Stoffel, running in with career ending PR time of 13:13 and taking 14th place. The next Apache was our 5th grader, Eva Sommers, with a career PR time of 14:46 and coming in 37th in the line up. Next for the team was 6th grader, Braelyn Kelly, running in with a career PR time of 15:11 and placing 41st. The next Apache in was 6th grader Isabella Scott with a career PR time of 15:25 and placed 44th overall. Next on the team was 5th grader Ruby Cantrell with a career PR time of 15:29 and placing 45th overall. Following into the shoot was 7th grader Alexis Lynn with a season PR time of 15:45. Lynn placed 50th overall. Up next was 7th grader Harper Ellet, finishing her race with a time of 18:42 and taking 61st place. Next into the shoot was 5th grader, Rory Edwards, with a time of 18:52 and finishing in 62nd place. Round out the Apaches was 7th grader Adelyn Edwards finishing her race in a time of 20:11 and placed 63rd overall. The Apaches toed the line with 64 total runners in the race. There were 4 complete teams, with 10 schools represented in their race. The conference meet marked the final race of the season, closing out months of training, competition, and shared effort. The Lady Apaches’ second-place finish was a strong testament to their dedication and the bond they built as a team — a fitting end to a memorable season.
